Cast announced for CREAM! reading

The cast has officially been announced for Page 73’s readings of CREAM! by John J. Caswell, Jr., the 2017 P73 Playwriting Fellow. The weeklong new play lab culminates in two readings at Theater for the New City, both of which are free and open to the public. The readings will take place on Thursday, October 19 at 7pm and Friday, October 20 at 4pm.

CREAM! follows Lotta and Laszlo, the owners of a bakery who refuse to cater gay weddings, as they attempt to rehabilitate their reputation — and save their business — on an over-the-top reality show called “Cream!” A talking Cake, tap dancers, and Jesus Himself weigh in as Lotta and Laszlo set themselves on a perilous path to redemption charted by “Cream!”‘s Puckish host, Michael Samantha.

CREAM! will be directed by Dustin Wills (Orange Julius). The cast will include Constance Shulman (“Orange is the New Black”), Molly Bernard (“Younger”), David Ryan Smith (One Man, Two Guvnors), Jose Joaquin Perez (In A Word), Christopher Guy Bannow (The Hairy Ape), Mitchell Winter (“I, Robot”) and Alesandra Nahodil (The Mysteries).

Admission to both readings is free and open to the public. Tickets must be reserved in advance here. Requests to be placed on the waitlist if readings sell out can be sent to caitlin@page73.org.
